Biomimetic research lab

Nature has developed many successful ideas we humans can learn from: For example, how leaves clean themselves or how seeds master the art of flight. A search for traces at the exhibition and the workshop has lots of surprises in store, allowing the children to experience nature’s resourcefulness up close.

Workshop
Humans have been exploring nature for many centuries and have discovered well-functioning adaptations. This workshop introduces technical developments and shows how much they are based on plants and animals. For example, the fur of polar bears provided inspiration for improving water kettles and bird feathers served as a model for fans that run more quietly. The biomimetic research lab enables pupils to become actively involved in biomimicry and experiment with all their senses.
