Biomimicry – Nature as a source of inspiration

Nature has always been a source of inspiration for the construction of machines, building structures or other technical achievements. Humankind has always been aware of the perfection of many natural phenomena, trying to imitate and recreate it. Adaptations of nature are still frequently used for developments today.
Teenagers & Adults
In this exhibition, the scientific discipline of biomimicry is introduced based on historical success stories and current research questions: What can we learn from plants or animals in terms of sustainability?

What ideas can architecture draw from the ventilation system in termite mounds? Does the structure of butterfly wings provide insights on how to make screens less reflective?
