Changing Science: Guided educator tour

Where does our knowledge come from? What is being researched, and why? Who is conducting research, and how does research change the way we view the world? With the exhibition “Changing Science”, the TMW invites visitors to embark on a journey of discovery and reveals how knowledge is created – and how it changes over time.

Guided Tour
Our understanding of nature and its phenomena has always accompanied the development of society – especially in the classroom, the natural sciences open up fascinating ways for pupils to explore the world: from the tiniest building blocks of matter to the unimaginable dimensions of the universe. Scientific work enables us to recognise connections, ask questions and systematically understand phenomena. At the same time, scientific work is influenced by methods, tools, worldviews and social conditions that have changed over the centuries.

Objects from the TMW collection as well as interactive stations offer teachers and their classes engaging opportunities to link historical developments with current scientific questions.

For teaching purposes, the exhibition offers numerous points of connection from physics, astronomy and brain research: from the study of electricity and radioactivity, through modern optical and measuring instruments used to explore the heavens, to the investigation of the human brain and current questions in quantum physics.
