More than Recycling: guided educator tour

When and why do we let go of things? And what becomes of them when they lose their value to us? Reusability and innovative technological solutions are the central themes of the exhibition More than Recycling – encouraging visitors to reflect on how we consume, use and discard.

Guided Tour
The special exhibition More than Recycling begins at what might be considered the end of a product’s life and invites visitors to explore how we can transition from a throwaway culture to a more resource-conscious approach. Covering topics from food and clothing to housing, electronics, and entertainment, the exhibition showcases innovative approaches to the circular economy, encourages visitors to test their knowledge in an interactive way, and maintains a strong focus on people and their connection to the economy. True to its theme, the exhibition itself is a “recycled product”, creatively and sustainably reusing architectural elements from the previous special exhibition held in the same space.

Possible links to classroom topics include waste management, fast fashion as a short-lived trend with increasing resource consumption, plastic as both a useful healthcare product and an all-too-affordable consumable material, sharing as a future model for consumer behaviour and durability instead of planned obsolescence. The exhibition has been designed for young people aged 12 and up and features hands-on stations in all four sections to support interactive and reflective engagement with the content.
