Human and machine: Working with a laser cutter

Where do intelligent machines have their strengths and where are we humans superior?
Kindergartens & Schools
5.–13. Grade (10–19 years)
This online workshop perfectly combines human creativity with the precision of machines – while allowing physical distance in an online setting!

An open-source graphics programme is introduced to the virtual group, enabling them to design a small workpiece “in real time” and prepare it for production using the laser cutter. The laser cutter then turns the design drafts into physical products made of wood that can either be picked up at the TMW or sent to the desired address.

  • This online workshop (via Zoom) is organised and supervised live by two cultural mediators of the TMW.
  • As the ideal setting, we recommend a laptop/PC and headset per participant at home. (Tablets are not suitable!) The computer (laptop/PC) needs Internet access for using Zoom. Information to prepare for the workshop (link to the free programme for download, documents) and the link for the Zoom meeting will be sent to all participants by email shortly before the workshop.
  • Two accompanying persons can attend for free.
Please note that this workshop is only offered in German. If you are interested in a programme held in English, please contact:
