Guided Tour
Around 200 years ago, a truly pioneering invention began its journey around the world: the railway. Whether for transporting heavy goods or today as an environmentally friendly means of local and long-distance transport, the railway is still an important part of how we travel, even if the technology, the engines and the professions have changed over time.
On this guided tour through the exhibition “Under the Spell of the Railway”, we will explore exciting questions together: How does a steam locomotive work? How did people travel in the past without mobile phones and timetable apps? How comfortable or uncomfortable was travelling compared to today? How do 7,000 trains reach their destinations safely and on time every day? A guided tour for everyone who wants to marvel, discover and understand how the railway moves and connects our world – on a scale both large and small!
