Sound from electricity

Music straight from the socket? How do electronic music and electronic musical instruments work? What distinguishes them from other instruments and how is a sound produced? This interactive tour shows everything that can generate sounds using electricity as well as the technology behind it.
Kindergarten & School
5–13 Grade
All musical instruments have one thing in common: They produce sounds. However, they do so in very different ways. Since the early 20th century, electricity has also been used to create or modify sounds.

How that works and what electronic musical instruments there are is explained in this guided tour. Additional sound samples and experiments for presentation or in a hands-on mode “set the right tone”!
Two accompanying adults can participate for free.
