Sustainability – From knowledge to action

The United Nations (UN) have defined 17 development goals – referred to as SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) – to promote the development of economic, social and environmental sustainability. The TMW builds bridges between historical objects and current issues regarding sustainable development. This guided tour addresses the question of how technology can contribute to making our world liveable for the future.

Guided Tour
Mankind is facing many great challenges – on a global, regional and local scale. Is sustainable energy generation possible? What innovative approaches are there (or have there been) in the field of mobility? How can inequalities be reduced or fair access to resources be ensured?

In this guided tour, museum objects are put into context with these 17 sustainable development goals – taking a look at both the past and the future: Do technical innovations have the potential to change our world in the long term? Under the motto “Work in progress: On the way to sustainability”, this guided tour encourages visitors to think about complex issues of our time.
