FEEI Fachverband der Elektro- und Elektronikindustrie

Enabling the future: FEEI – Austrian Association for the Electrical and Electronics Industry supports the exhibition “Energiewende“ of the Technisches Museum Wien (Vienna Museum of Science and Technology)
Climate protection, resource conservation and energy efficiency are central challenges of our time, to which the Association for the Electrical and Electronics Industry is intensively dedicated. Therefore, it is a central concern of the Association to support the Technisches Museum Wien with the exhibition “Energiewende” in order to jointly draw attention to essential aspects of this social, ecological and economic complex of topics, which is gaining momentum.

To achieve the green transformation, one clearly needs innovative solutions from the electrical and electronics industry. The industry offers a huge range of possibilities: from renewable energies such as photovoltaics or wind power to sustainable mobility solutions and energy-saving technologies. There is great potential, particularly in the area of energy efficiency. While traditional approaches basically require more energy than renewable energy sources, almost 70 percent of the generated energy is lost during transmission in conventional use. In contrast, renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and wind are more climate-friendly from the start and in conjunction with intelligent technologies, almost 70 percent of the generated energy can be used.

The EEI thus offers a range of so-called “green jobs“. Anyone who wants to actively shape the future – whether as a researcher, electrician or in the IT security, as a Smart Home expert, co-developer of AI or in the field of Robotics Engineering – is well advised to find their place in the EEI sector. The “Energiewende“ exhibition vividly demonstrates how meaningful, future-oriented and indispensable research and innovation in the EEI are.

About the FEEI – Austrian Association for the Electrical and Electronics Industry in Austria

The Austrian Association for the Electrical and Electronics Industry represents the interests of around 300 companies employing almost 72,000 people and a production value of 23.3 billion Euros (in 2022). Together with its network partners – these include the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, UFH, Silicon Labs Austria, the Industry 4.0 platform, Forum for Mobile Communication (FMK), the Association of Alternative Telecommunications Operators (VAT), and the Railway Industry Association (VBI) - FEEI´s goal is to strengthen the Austrian electrical and electronics industry in the global competition for locations. www.feei.at
