At Meet the Maker*, a Maker talks about their own projects and processes. In a moderated setting, we casually share questions, experiences, and tried-and-tested tricks on various topics – from operating CAD software to programming robot arms to fashion design using the laser cutter.

Meet the Maker* with Natsuka

Experience the fascinating art of Ukiyo-e, the traditional woodblock printmaking, reinterpreted with modern technology!
At our Meet the Maker event, Maker*in Natsuka will show you how classic kimono patterns are engraved onto wood using the laser cutter. You can drop by, watch, and try out the technique yourself, as well as create your own small prints that combine tradition and innovation. Discover how centuries-old craftsmanship and modern technology come together, and take home your very own little artwork.

  • The event lasts from 2:00 pm to around 5:00 pm and takes place in the techLAB.
  • No prior knowledge is required to participate.
  • Limited number of participants due to spatial capacity.
  • No registration required!
