A new take on textiles – Design your own piece

Have you ever embroidered your own T-shirt? Whether clothing, bags, patches or something completely different, the cutting plotter and the embroidery machine allow you to easily implement your most creative design ideas into your own self-designed piece.
Teenagers & Adults
Age 12+
Textile work meets innovation: In this workshop, the participants create their own textile designs on the computer to turn them into real products using the cutting plotter and the embroidery machine. All it takes is a bit of craftsmanship and some patience – the amateur designers will be rewarded with new digital skills and their very personal workpieces.

The designing is done using the open-source programme Inkscape, which can be downloaded and used for free.

For all those who have enjoyed designing, the workshop need not be the end: They can test their newly acquired skills and put their other ideas into practice during the regular opening hours of the techLAB, the museum’s maker*space.

Please note that the workshop is designed for participants aged 12 and over.
