A new take on textiles – Design your own piece
Teenagers & Adults
Workshop
Textile work meets innovation: In this workshop, the participants create their own textile designs on the computer to turn them into real products using the cutting plotter and the embroidery machine. All it takes is a bit of craftsmanship and some patience – the amateur designers will be rewarded with new digital skills and their very personal workpieces.
The designing is done using the open-source programme Inkscape, which can be downloaded and used for free.
For all those who have enjoyed designing, the workshop need not be the end: They can test their newly acquired skills and put their other ideas into practice during the regular opening hours of the techLAB, the museum’s maker*space.
