Dr. Anne-Katrin Ebert

Head of Team, Transport

With the Vienna Technical Museum since:

March 2009

My duties include:

Together with my colleagues Thomas Winkler and Wolfgang Stritzinger I look after the Transport collection section and the Transport exhibition. My area of responsibility also includes the Road Transport collection group more specifically.

My duties:

  • Expanding, developing, documenting and providing scientific support for the collection groups
  • Participation in collection-related research projects
  • Curating of exhibitions
  • Publications
  • International contacts and conference attendance
  • Member of the Editorial Committee of the Blätter für Technikgeschichte [Leaflets on the History of Technology]

My key areas of research:

As a historian and mobility researcher I study the history of mobility and transport in the 19th and 20th century, social and cultural history, and the history of consumerism.

My recommendation for you:

Tucked away behind the Austro Daimler on Level 4 is the access to the Gallery. From there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Museum’s central hall with the Etrich Taube, the Prick’sche steam engine and the locomotives from the Lok.Erlebnis exhibition.
